When you share a file on fff files, it doesn’t live forever. After 7 to 90 days (depending on size), your file is permanently deleted. No recovery. No backups. Gone.
This isn’t a limitation — it’s a design choice that protects you.
Every file you’ve ever uploaded to the internet still exists somewhere — unless it was explicitly designed to expire. Temporary file sharing means your documents, photos, and archives don’t accumulate on servers indefinitely.
Old shared files are a security risk. That PDF you shared 6 months ago? Someone might still have the link. Auto-deletion ensures old links stop working.
Permanent storage costs money — which is why "free" services eventually run out of space and push you to paid plans. By deleting old files automatically, we keep costs low and the service genuinely free.
fff files uses tiered retention based on file size:
Small files cost almost nothing to store, so they live longer. Large files expire faster to keep the service sustainable.
Simply re-upload it. Each upload gets a fresh expiration date. No need to manage files or remember to delete them — it happens automatically.
