The Problem with Messaging Apps
Every major messaging app compresses photos by default:
- WhatsApp: Compresses to ~2MP. "HD" mode gives ~12MP — still not original.
- Telegram: Compresses to 1280px unless sent as "file" (not "photo").
- iMessage: Better quality but still compresses above certain sizes.
- Facebook Messenger: Heavy compression. 4K becomes 2K.

Share the actual image file — not a compressed preview. File sharing services transfer the original bytes without re-encoding:
- Upload your original photo to fff files (up to 250MB per file)
- Copy the download link
- Send the link via any messaging app
- Recipient downloads the original file — zero compression
Tips for Photo Sharing
- Use PNG or TIFF for maximum quality — lossless formats
- Archive a batch as ZIP — share entire albums as one download
- RAW files welcome — share .CR2, .NEF, .ARW files up to 250MB
- Auto-delete = privacy — photos disappear after 7-90 days
What About Cloud Photo Services?
Google Photos, iCloud, and Dropbox all work — but require accounts from both sender and recipient. They also store your photos permanently, build face recognition databases, and compress "high quality" uploads. File sharing is faster and more private for one-off transfers.
