File Sharing Privacy: No IP Logging, No Cookies, No Tracking

The "free" internet runs on surveillance. Free email scans your messages. Free cloud storage analyzes your files. Free file sharing tracks your behavior. The business model is simple: if you’re not paying, you’re the product.

fff files breaks this model. We monetize through non-intrusive advertising — not data collection.

What We DON’T Collect

• Email addresses — we don’t ask for yours
• Names or personal identifiers — you’re completely anonymous
• Cookies — we set zero cookies. No tracking IDs, no session tokens.
• Analytics data — no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Hotjar
• Raw IP addresses — hashed with SHA-256, truncated to 64 bits. Used only for rate limiting.
• File contents — we never scan, analyze, or inspect your uploaded files

What We DO Collect

• IP hash — for rate limiting (30 uploads/hour). Cannot be reversed to original IP.
• File metadata — filename, size, content type. Needed to serve the download page.
• Upload timestamp — to enforce auto-deletion schedules.

Why Privacy Matters for File Sharing

When you share a file, you’re not just sending data — you’re potentially exposing:

• Who you communicate with (if the service logs sharing patterns)
• What kind of content you share (if the service scans files)
• Your location and browsing habits (if the service tracks IPs and cookies)

Most file sharing services collect all of this. fff files collects none of it. The result: you can share files without building a surveillance profile.
